107th Annual - Lloyd Mills - Nebraska State Open Tournament  
 

The 107th Annual - Lloyd Mills - Nebraska State Open Checker Tournament will be held Sunday, November  13th, 2005 at the Home of John Pestal, 7051 Western Ave.   (12 blocks North of 72nd and Dodge Streets)  Omaha, NE 68132.

Results:  This years tournament was held at the home of John and Betty Pestal on Sunday November 13th--John, a four time champion came in second this year. He is a retired 77 year old Omaha barber. This years tournament was won by another "Cornhusker" veteran--George Stallsworth, age 64. Third place went to John Brogan. Newcomer Ryan Horner, a 30 yrs old internet player of Omaha, enjoyed the company of these three seasoned veterans. This years tournament had a very nice write-up with pictures in Mondays November 14th, Midlands News -"4 Square off for State Title"
